William Charles Walters

July 21, 1929 - April 12, 2016

William was born in Santa Ana, CA on July 21, 1929 to George and Dorothy Walters. He passed away on April 12, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. William graduated from Santa Ana High School and attended Santa Ana College. He served in combat, in the Navy and Army, as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He was married June 24, 1955 to Marlene. They were sweethearts for 60 years. William was a Journeyman Electrician for 18 years, later operating senior and retirement homes. He is survived by his wife; children, William K. (Sarah) Walters and Valli (Doug) Downey; grandchildren, Dan and David Grimes, Ben and Matt Downey; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Timmy Grimes. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vikki Grimes. He was a true example of love and service to his country, family, and his Lord. A committal ceremony will take place at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, on Monday, May 2nd, 2016 at 3:00 PM.
