May 15, 1941 - December 5, 2023
William C. Parks of Spokane WA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 5, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1941 in Cody, WY to Charles & Lucille Parks.
Bill was raised in Spokane Washington. After graduating from Lewis & Clark High School, he went on to study English and Economics at Western Washington University. During this time he enlisted in the United States Army and finished his military career as a Major in the US Army Reserves.
Bill met the love of his life, Kay, in 1960 and was married on September 19, 1964 in Peshastin, WA. Together, they raised three children: Charles, Kathleen “Kassie”, and Randall. He loved spending time with his family and friends out on the water. From his favorite place, Priest Lake Idaho, to boating on the Puget Sound, this is where he “got away”.
Bill was an accomplished businessman starting his career at Bell Telephone Co. continuing on to Convoy Co, Comet Trailers, Nevex Gold Co, and finishing his career with RA Pearson Co. These advancements took his family from Marysville, WA to Beaverton, OR, Spokane, WA, and then retiring in E. Wenatchee, WA. Bill thrived in the work environment and made many lifelong friends along the way.
Bill was a man of character and integrity. He was always willing to lend a hand and help take care of others. Words cannot express how deeply Bill will be missed, especially his quick wit, wisdom, guidance, storytelling, and his bright blue eyes. We are comforted, however, knowing he is no longer in pain and is with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kay Parks; son, Charles (Noelle) of Spokane; daughter, Kassie (Gary) of Puyallup; son Randall (Rachelle) of Anaheim; five grandchildren; Patrick, Michael, Kaitlyn, Megan and Rowyn; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
His service will be held at Washington State Veterans Cemetery 21702 W. Espanola Rd. Medical Lake, WA, on Friday, May 17, at 11:15 am. Following, there will be a celebration of life at the Spokane Tribe Casino, 14300 W. Highway 2 Airway Heights, WA.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Bill’s memory to Vanessa Behan (Crisis Nursery), 2230 E Sprague, Spokane WA 99202 or www.vanessabehan.org.
