May 26, 1938 - July 16, 2017

Wayne (Age 79) was born May 26, 1938, He passed away July 16, 2017. He was the youngest of 3 sons born to Robert and Gwendolyn (Jones) Reichert. A lifelong resident of Spokane, Wayne was a graduate of the North Central class of 56. He enlisted in the Army in 1957 and proudly served his country for 2 years active duty, mostly in Korea. In 1963 he was hired by Kaiser Mead as a high crane operator. He loved his job and was employed there until his retirement in 1997. An avid golfer, Wayne had 8 hole-in-ones and was the 1989 Wandermere Mens Club Champion. In later years, he enjoyed travel and was fortunate to have visited over 20 foreign countries. One of his favorite getaways was flying to Nevada for a little gambling. In spite of frequent travel, he said the best sight in the world was coming down Sunset Hill after an absence. Wayne is survived by his companion of 14 years, Mattie Kivett at the home, his children; Wayne Jr. of Lake Stevens, WA, and Ronda (Dave) Tande of Marysville, WA, 6 amazing grandchildren, and his brother and best friend Don Reichert of Airway Heights. Preceding him in death were his parents and older brother Bob. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 5th at 11:00 AM at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N. Lidgerwood, with Reverend Percy Happy Watkins officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the salvation Army, or to a charity of your choice.
