November 06, 1944 - March 03, 2018
Victoria Kay Charbonneau (Kelly), 73, was called to heaven on March 3, 2018. She was a treasured wife, mother, and friend to many in Spokane. When you met Kay, you knew you had met someone special who genuinely cared for you. Kay loved her Lord Jesus and prayed early every morning for her family, community, and the world she loved to travel. She was a trusted advisor and an unparalleled role model. She exuded strength and peace, and was, in a nutshell – the rock on which her beloved family stood. Growing up all over the world, she has been on adventures all over Asia and particularly loved India and Bali. Kay attended Whitworth in 1964 where she met her husband of over 50 years, Jim. She was an avid runner, completing her favorite landmark race Bloomsday for 20 years, and was active in PEO and other community organizations. She fought Alzheimers for over 12 years. She is survived by her husband Jim Charbonneau of Spokane; two daughters, Michelle Roos (Salem, OR) and Kelly Broker (Midland, MI); 7 grandchildren (Ashlyn Logan, Portland, OR; Trent Roos, Portland, OR; Taylor Roos, Portland, OR; Jami Morris, Salem, OR; Corey Roos, Salem, OR; Abigail Broker, Midland, MI; and Beauregard Broker, Midland, MI) and 2 great grand babies (Miles Stanley Morris and Laney Kay Logan) recently born in Salem, OR and Portland OR. Any donations can be directed to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (https://curealz.org/donate). A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date, in Brentwood, CA with family dear to her heart.
