Travis James Kline was born on June 20, 1990, to James and Christine Kline at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. He passed away on May 16, 2026, at his home in Spokane Valley.

Travis was an active and energetic kid, participating in school and recreational sports throughout his childhood. He was especially proud of his years in the West Valley High School Band, where he played in both the Marching Band and Jazz Band all four years of high school.

In 2016, Travis and Katie Baxter welcomed their son, Malakai. Becoming a father was one of the greatest joys of his life. Travis loved taking Kai on long stroller walks that grew into a shared love of hiking. As Kai got older, the two discovered a mutual passion for fishing and spent many days exploring the outdoors together.

Travis leaves behind his beloved son, Malakai Sylvester JJ Kline, and Malakai’s mother, Katie Baxter. He is also survived by his parents, James and Christine Kline; his sister and brother‑in‑law, Stacia and Jack Willard; and his grandfather, Dale Kline.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA 99205.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.

Sending warm thoughts for all. Travis was always so friendly and kind.

There was a sense of 'care & reliability' when family said 'Travis will do it..., or... Travis will be there...'

His passing is such a loss to family, friends and others.

May the memories of his sweetness help through those moments when his passing seems so heavy...
