Tracy Linda Baker

Tracy L. Baker, age 66, of Spokane Valley, passed away January 3, 2024, after several years of battling various cancers. Tracy was born February 7, 1957, at California’s Corona Naval Hospital to Lloyd and Marlene (Kay) Thompson. She lived in California until moving to Oregon at age 8. She and older brother, Lowell, shared many adventures growing up in Oregon. Always a lover of horses and other animals, her parents got Tracy a horse when she was 12. In 1970, little sister, Nancy, was born while the family lived in Silverton, OR. In 1972 the family moved to Boise, ID where Tracy attended 9th grade thru senior year. She graduated from Boise High School in 1975. Tracy married William T. (Tom) Baker in 1978. She took bookkeeping and business management classes at Lewis & Clark State College Vo-Tech program while living in Lewiston. She enjoyed her self-employed bookkeeping career over the years. In 2014, she was diagnosed with Salivary Gland Cancer; Breast Cancer in 2017; and Metastatic Brain Cancer in 2022. She was divorced in 2018. Tracy was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Thompson; mother, Kay Thompson; half-brother Mike Thompson; brother Lowell Thompson; and sister, Nancy Thompson. She is survived by her children: Drew Baker, Russell Baker, and Kayla Baker; half-sister Cathy Hair; aunt Patricia Pudwill; and uncle, Konrad Pudwill; grandchildren Lauren Baker, Ryan Baker, Liam Baker, Rowan Baker; sister-in-law, Toni Thompson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her beloved companion labradoodle, Dakota.
