July 26, 1955 - March 04, 2021
Tom Board, loving husband and father of 2 children, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 4th, 2021, at the age of 65 with his loving wife by his side. Tom was preceded in passing by his mother, Evelyn, and his father, Orville. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, sons Dylan (Adana) and Thomas (Nancy), his sister Barbara, and 5 grandchildren, Clint, Bret, Justice, Gillian, and Genevieve, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Not only is he survived by his immediate family but also many wonderful friends that he had made throughout the years. Tom was born on July 26th, 1955 in Rockford, Illinois to Evelyn and Orville Board. His family would later relocate to California, where he would graduate from high school in Norco, California in June 1973. Several years later he would meet the love of his life, Rebecca James, and would be married on November 25th, 1984 and raise their two sons, Dylan & Thomas. After a few years they would later decide it would be best if they relocated closer to family and made their way to Spokane, Washington. Once in Spokane, Tom would have a short career as a delivery driver which he enjoyed the freedom it gave him while allowing him to support his family. As his sons got older, he wanted a more stable schedule which he got with a position at Keiser Aluminum. He had a long successful career at Keiser Aluminum in Mead where he would carve out long lasting friendships with many of the staff members. Tom had many passions he pursued. Those would range from breathing new life into old classic cars, to collecting vintage items, puzzles, and his love for chickens. He had a great sense of humor and would always find a way to share his favorite jokes. He was quick to bring a smile to all, including strangers with his great personality and his ability to brighten a room with his presence. He was a loving, kind, and generous person, who would do anything for his family and friend. He will be missed immensely as he was a truly wonderful, beautiful soul.
