Thomas Lee Turner

April 11, 1946 - September 14, 2013

TURNER, Tom Lee (Age 67) Tom was born in Phoenix, AZ on April 11, 1946 and passed away in Spokane, WA on October 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife Kathy Turner of Spokane, daughter Camille DeMarco and son-in-law Matt DeMarco of Spokane, brother Jim Turner and sister-in-law Leanne Turner of Spokane, sister-in-law Charlene Turner, nieces Cindy, Amy and Mollie, and grandchildren Madeline and Nick DeMarco. Tom was preceded in death by his parents James and Marion Turner and brother Jerry Turner. Tom moved to Colville, WA in 1958, where he attended grade school and high school. He played football and baseball for Colville High. He was a founding member of the ""CDT"" and graduated from Colville High School in 1964. Tom attended college in Washington and worked for Boeing for a short time before entering the brokerage industry and graduating from the New York Institute of Finance in 1970. It was during this time that he met Kathy Osler, his future bride and wife of 42 years. Tom and Kathy were married in Eureka, MT on August 21, 1971. Tom worked with Blythe And Company in Seattle and Spokane for several years before starting his own firm. Bozarth and Turner Securities was located in downtown Spokane for almost thirty years before being renamed Alliant Securities and moving to Liberty Lake. Tom lived and worked in Spokane for over 40 years, welcoming his daughter Camille in 1975, seeing her married in 1997; his grandchildren born in 2000 and 2005. Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and racing sailboats on Coeur d'Alene Lake. He was a charter member of the Panhandle Yacht Club and held the position of Commodore of the Spokane Sailing Club. After retiring from sailing, he and Kathy enjoyed many years in Windy Bay with their daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and wonderful neighbors. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends; most notably traveling with his wife Kathy. Some of Tom's favorite trips included visiting friends in Europe, scuba diving in Hawaii, fishing with his brothers in Alaska, and helicopter skiing with close friends. He was the head coach for his daughter's All Saints Crusaders softball team. Tom was an enthusiastic Gonzaga Prep football and softball fan and enjoyed watching the Gonzaga University Bulldogs basketball team. Tom was a self-starter who wasn't afraid to take chances. His life revolved around Kathy and his family. Tom will be missed but will be remembered as a man that worked hard, enjoyed life and rest assured he would do it all over again. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to either Gonzaga Preparatory School or All Saints Catholic School.
