Thomas L. Gravelle, a proud U.S. Marine veteran, dedicated public servant, and avid outdoorsman, passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 63, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born on May 20, 1962, in Minnesota, Tom was the son of Arlene and Paul Gravelle and a sibling to PJ, Doug, Cindy, Pam, Donna, and Terri (preceded in death by his brother Chuck).
Tom proudly served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring from active duty in 2000. He continued his commitment to service as a police officer and later Sergeant with the Airway Heights Police Department in the Spokane County area.
He was married to Sandra Gravelle for nearly 29 years, and together they had three children: Paul, Scott, and Crystal. Later in life, he married Amy and gained a stepdaughter, Emily.
Tom loved the outdoors and found great joy in horses, hunting, and especially fishing. He will be remembered for his strength, discipline, and the quiet passion he brought to time spent in nature.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Gravelle; his children, Paul, Scott, and Crystal; stepdaughter Emily; his siblings; and many friends and fellow veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlene and Paul Gravelle, and his brother Chuck.
A memorial service will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. PST, followed by a celebration of life at VFW Post 51 in Spokane, WA, at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a veterans’ organization of your choice.

You'll always be my brother-now in spirit, always in heart. Your laughter, your kindness, your courage, I'll carry them all. Rest well my brother. You are loved so much. PJ
Tom was the best little brother and friend I could have ever asked for. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life brother. 💔🇺🇸
