Therese Marthe Macy

October 20, 1934 - September 13, 2015

Our beautiful and beloved Mother passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in a small town in France on October 20, 1934 to Lucien and Alice Frigant and had three Sisters and two Brothers. She grew up in France and married a young U.S. Airman, Marvin Eugene Macy on April 22, 1955. They were married for 45 years and had 3 daughters and a son. Therese was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in August 2000. Therese lived in Spokane since 1973 locally furthering her education in designer clothing. Many of you remember Therese from the Crescent’s Women’s Designer Collection. Upon Fredrick & Nelson assumption of ownership, Therese transitioned with ease into the Men’s suits department always happy to put her “French Eye” for fashion to good use for Spokane’s business elite. Upon retirement in 1997 Therese enjoyed flower gardening, making her backyard a private, colorful sanctuary; daily 4 mile walks along the Centennial Trail, known as the “Little French Lady”; reading; entertaining family; visiting Coeur d’Alene Casino; and many trips to Las Vegas. Survived by her children Barbara (Douglas) Johnson, Karen (Dale) Schultz, Alice (Joel) Wasnidge and Steven (Traci) Macy, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Also survived by her Sister Giselle (Tim) Brown of Hayward, CA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday October 3, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 4521 Arden Road, Otis Orchards, WA with a reception to follow.
