February 24, 1938 - March 19, 2015
Theodore "Ted" Robert Heinrich was born in Detroit Michigan on February 24th, 1938 to Elmer and Margaret Heinrich. He peacefully passed away here in Spokane on March 19th at the age of 77. At a young age Ted moved to Spokane and attended Spokane Lutheran School through the 8th grade and went on to graduate from John R Rogers High School in 1956. After a few odd jobs Ted entered the Army and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. He met his wife Bonnie in 1963 in Spokane and they were married in 1964. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Ted worked for the Spokesman Review for 5 years as a District Supervisor following his service in the Army. Ted also had other various jobs throughout his life that were mostly centered around the automotive industry and sales. He spent his last 20 working years with Genuine Auto Parts and retired with them in 2000. Ted loved working on cars and enjoyed camping with his family in the summer months. His biggest joy was spending time with Bonnie on their 32 foot Sea Ray that they kept at Bay View on Lake Pend Oreille. It was these years with their lake friends that Ted and Bonnie cherished the most. Ted is survived by his wife Bonnie of 50 years, his sister Marlene Rettig (Gene), his son Robb Heinrich (Kim), his step son Terry Baker, and two grandchildren, Zac (11) and Lauren (9). Ted was a very intelligent man who never met a stranger. He had the gift of gab and he loved being a father to his son. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of Spokane who took such great care of him in his final days. A memorial to remember Ted will be held at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park on April 10th at 2pm.
