Susan "Kim" Pitts, lovingly known as Kimmy Sue, passed away peacefully as the sun rose on June 10, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Kim was born and raised in Spokane, WA. Her favorite childhood memories were made growing up in Green Bluff with her mom, Beverly Leaf (Watson), her sister, Stephanie LaTurner (Leaf), and her brother, Mark Hansen. During those years, she especially loved spending time with her horse, DingBobbyDee, who brought her endless joy and a sense of freedom. Later in life, she was blessed to meet her other half-siblings and several other family members —all thanks to her great-aunt Virginia and the annual Hansen family picnic.
Kim had a fierce, independent spirit and the biggest heart. She was always ready to lend a hand, never hesitating to help anyone in need. She had an intuitive way of understanding others, and her warm smile was something she shared with everyone she met.
She kept an immaculate home, never liked to sit still for long, and was always up for an adventure— especially trips to the lake, the ocean, and the casino. She was also known for her talent in macrame and passion for cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Shanda Gorder (Pitts) and Michaela Easley, and her grandchildren, Madison Gorder, Jayda Berg, and Harlan Leonard, who were the greatest joys of her life. Her big heart, humor, and adventurous spirit will live on through them.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Billy and Christina for the love, care, and support they provided for Kim.
A private celebration of Kim's life will be held at a later date.
