Shirley (Anderson) Olson

Shirley was born in Plentywood, Montana and grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho. She was the daughter of Esther and Gustav Anderson. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1952.

After graduating from Deaconess Nursing School as a registered nurse in 1956 she worked for 40 years at Deaconess and Sacred Heart Hospitals in Spokane.

Shirley lived a long, happy life. She was a remarkable person; a loving and loyal caregiver to her family; a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom and grandmother who was greatly admired and adored. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and playing games and cards. She will be missed by all.

 She was preceded in death by the love of her life Howard Olson who she met in 1953 and married in Couer d’ Alene, Idaho in 1954, her brother Jerry Anderson and brother-in-law Glenn Hadley.

She is survived by her daughters; Kathy Rogich (Ed); Karen Canning and Karen’s sons Andrew (Cami), George and Thomas;  son Michael Olson and his son Ryan and daughter Casey Cinkovich (Brandon); her sister; Donna Hadley from Plains, Montana and her sons Brad and Curt Hadley (Misty): She had 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Wade and Riley Canning and Wyatt and Colton Cinkovich.

No services are planned. She will be buried at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane.
