Sandra Jo Maguire, aged 81, passed away peacefully February 27, 2026, in Spokane, WA
Born on January 13, 1945, in Spokane to Collette (DesChamps) and Thomas Stewart. She lived a life marked by resilience, a successful career and devotion to her family.
Sandy grew up in Spokane attending Sacred Heart Parish grade school and continuing on to Marycliff all girls high school. She achieved her X-Ray Technician degree at Spokane Community College and began her career at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was curious, smart and eager to learn which led her to the development and implementation of ultrasound technology at Sacred Heart. She was instrumental in the expansion of the ultrasound department, eventually managing the department until her retirement in 2000.
Sandy is survived by her brother, Tom (Molly); sister, MaryPat; her three children: Shannon (Vern), Mike (Kathy), and Sheila; her grandchildren: Gage (Emily), Joah, Cole, Shawn (Christy), and Michelle (Nathan); and her great-grandchildren: Isla, Declan, Tanner, Lakelyn, and Caden.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents; brother, Jim; sisters, Mareen and Denise; granddaughter, Maris; and great-grandbaby, Bo.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the love and care she received at Candlelight Adult Family Home as well as Hospice of Spokane. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you to consider a donation in her name to Hospice of Spokane. A family service and interment will be held at a later date at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
