Ronald Jay Waters

April 20, 1955 - November 13, 2016

Ronald J. Waters of Spokane Valley, WA passed away on November 13, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was fortunate enough to leave this life surrounded by his family and long-time friends Rod Erickson and Joyce Johnson. Born April 20, 1955 in St. Maries, Idaho, Ron graduated from high school in Culdesac, ID in 1973; went on to attend LCSC in Lewiston, ID; and served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979. He spent the last 17 years as a Costco employee, where he really grew to love his Costco family. Throughout life Ron enjoyed hunting, sports, and learning about early American history. He was a very generous person and loved being with family and friends. Getting to ride motorcycles with his high school buddy, Jess Fretwell, was another favorite activity! Also an excellent cook, music aficionado, and a movie buff, his interests were quite extensive. Ron is preceded in death by his father John Waters and his beloved mother Eleanor Papineau. He is survived by his three sisters: Clara Primmer and family of Rathdrum, ID; Carole Herndon of Lake Oswego, OR; and JoAnn Remacle and family of Lewiston, ID. A celebration of life will be held November 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm at VFW Post 1435, 212 S. David St., Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
