Robert “Rod” Clifton Williamson, Jr. beloved husband, father, and friend was born in Geneva, Alabama on May 18, 1953 to Earl Ceil and Robert Williamson, Sr. Robert’s family migrated north to Buffalo, New York, where he grew up, in the late 1950s. Robert was the oldest of 5 children. His younger siblings are Patti, Earl, Craig, and Paulette. In the 5th grade he met Virginia, who would go on to be his loving and devoted wife for 46 years. They married in California in 1976. Shortly after graduating from Senaca Vocational High School in 1971 Robert joined the United States Air Force. His 20 year tour of duty took him to the Netherlands, Germany, North & South Dakota, Iceland, California, and Fairchild AFB located near Spokane, WA where he retired as a Master Sargent. Robert graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Masters Degree in Social Work in 1997 and promptly began his second career as a social worker and counselor. He worked for several agencies in Spokane including Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane Mental Health, The Spokane AIDS Network and finally, the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Robert enjoyed life and could light up a room with his vibrant smile and often comical conversation. Anyone that knew Robert knew that he loved his three daughters, Patrice, Jacqueline, and Elizabeth, and two grandchildren, Jacori and Captain. He loved them madly and told them so often. In his spare time, Robert loved having a few drinks at the Satellite and the Stein-house with his friends. He was a master on the grill and liked walking around Spokane and taking photos. Robert transition from life on October 19, 2022 and is survived by his wife, Virginia Ruth Williamson. His daughters, Patrice Williamson, Jacqueline Williamson, and Elizabeth Barnard. Son in law Denfield Barnard. His mother, Earl Ceil Williamson of Buffalo, NY. His siblings Patti McCory, Earl Williamson, Craig Williamson, and Paulette Graves. His grandchildren, Jacori Ervin and Captain Williamson. His aunts, Darnella Campbell and Carole Williamson. And his uncle Nathaniel Williamson. And a formidable group of friends and extended family.
