Richard was a talented and honest foreign auto mechanic, the proud owner of Leightonâ??s Foreign Auto Service for 31 successful years. He was an accomplished motor and sail boat enthusiast, private pilot and airplane owner, sports car driver and racer in his early years. He loved to fix things right. He died with Parkinsonâ??s disease, and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; daughters, Kerin and Lisa; son, John; and grandchildren, John, Franklin, Benjamin, Emily, Matthew, Taylor, Austin, and Jade. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marie. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth, and extended family of nephews and nieces and their children. Richard loved his life and his family, and he treasured the life-long friendships that developed over the years. The family would like to express their profound gratitude and thanks to Dana and the staff at Colonial Court Assisted Living Facility, who went out of their way to help Dick and his family. We appreciate your help so much. No services will be held, per the familyâ??s wishes.
