November 20, 1936 - January 23, 2014
WHITE, Raymond Lee ""Ray"" (Age 77) Born into ""Eternal Life"" at his home in Spokane, WA., Thursday, January 23, 2014. He was born November 20, 1936, in Long Beach, CA., to Coy and Lillian White. He graduated from Long Beach Wilson High in 1954 and University of California Long Beach in 1960. Ray had a life-long love of airplanes and spent most of his career in the airline industry or at The Boeing Company, where he retired as a Regional Sales Director. His work provided a unique opportunity to travel the world, which Sharon was able to enjoy with him. He was an avid golfer and shot a couple of holes-in-one over the years, however he admitted he had, ""a pitiful short game."" His love of choral music drew him to becoming a choral director at seven different churches in Seattle and Denver. He was also the founding director of a community choir called ""The Valley Singers."" His music was the way he felt he could best serve the church and community and his hope was that the music they made together brought joy to the singers and audiences alike. He was an inveterate collector of statistics and enjoyed American History and mystery novels and also loved most sports. Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (Dufenhorst) of 45 years; and sons, Chris and Eric (Brenda) of Spokane, Martin (Janet) of La Mesa, CA., Murray (Brigitte) of Glendale, AZ., and eight grandchildren.
