RAGLAND, Phillip Jay - 1959 - 2019 - Avid outdoorsman, rugged individualist, generous friend, Phillip Ragland passed away quietly on January 3, 2019 after a five-year battle with leukemia. A Spokane resident for 57 years, Phil was 59 years old and had many family members and caring friends by his side in the hospital room that was fondly nicknamed “Philville”. - He had one son, Phillip Martin Ragland, and a loving extended family. Phillip was a great friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or share whatever he had with those in need. You were special and never alone if Phil Ragland called you his friend. He was a devoted son, father and grandfather. - He was happiest when riding his Can Am three-wheel motorcycle and named it “Joy.” The other love of his life was fishing, and he spent hours on the local lakes and rivers. His final fishing trip was to Florida in December accompanied by his son, Phillip (PJ), his two brothers-in-law, Gary Anderegg and Rick McMichael, where, at least according to him, he caught the largest and most fish of the entire trip. - Phil went to Brown Grade School, Glover Junior High and Shadle Park High School. He also attended Spokane Community College. Phil is survived by his mother, Pearl Ragland; sisters Marta McMichael (Rick McMichael), and Risa Anderegg (Gary Anderegg); and son, Phillip Ragland. - Shop’s closed, gone fishing! Phil will be missed by all but never forgotten. - A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Family of Faith Community Church 1504 W. Grace Ave, Spokane. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phil’s name to the Family of Faith Church. A celebration of life will follow the service at the Ragland Home at 4404 N Indian Bluff Road.
