Patty Lou Sipe passed away peacefully at 10am on June 19, 2021 at the Hospice of Spokane House. She was born in Goshen, Indiana to Harry Gordon & Roberta Ruth Rowell on May 28, 1937. After High School she attended Ball State University where she met and married Ben Mellinger. They moved to California where they had 3 children. The family later moved to Spokane, WA. And then many years later Patty met and married Gary Sipe, expanding her family to include Gary's 4 children. Patty most enjoyable job was working at Royal Food Distributors in Spokane for her good friends Sheri & Jim Queen until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, reading, bike riding, going with Gary on various motorcycle trips, adventures with the Hot Rod to numerous car shows and vacation excursions. She also enjoyed the fun times with the motorhome group, often traveling to fun destinations. Her favorite of all the outings were the weekends spent out on Coeur D’Alene lake in the boat either alone with Gary or surrounded by friends and family. After retirement the summers were spent in Spokane or Cheney but the winters were spent in the motorhome in Yuma, AZ where she played shuffleboard on a winning team, volunteered at the library or helped with the many other activities with her friends. Patty was a SCOPE volunteer for both Liberty Lake & Medical Lake Stations and loved checking for speeders with Radar and patrolling in the SCOPE car. Patty will be dearly missed and remembered by her husband, friends, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her little calico cat, Kali. A Memorial Service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 at 10:30am with Celebration of Life luncheon at private residence.
