Pam Bays suddenly and unexpectantly passed away the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2024 after starting to recover from a brief but intense bout with some kind of non-covid, non-flu virus.
Pam is survived by Brian, her husband of 32 years and their children Tayler Bays and Carlee Bays-Harmon (Bohdi) and grandson Isaiah James Bays. She is also survived by her brother Elbert “Buddy” (Jennifer) Hornbeck, sister Tara (Chuck) Keller and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and outlaws and everyone she considered family. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ray and Carole Hornbeck.
Pam was born on May 20th 1966 in Seattle Washington. The family moved to Spokane when Pam was 6 and then the family moved to the Riverside Washington area, where she graduated from Riverside High School where she was a cheerleader and worked at the family grocery store in Chattaroy.
After high school Pam worked in Yellowstone Park as a housekeeper. She also worked for a number of years at Toys-R-Us and the 50 % Off Card Shops. Her most rewarding time was the past 20 plus years volunteering at Madison Elementary and then as an Itinerant Para-Educator for the Spokane School District.
To know her, was to absolutely love her. We are utterly devasted and forever lost without our best friend, confidant and smiling face we could turn to when things were tough. All of you who knew her can relate because we have yet to meet someone who didn’t love her the moment they met.
We plan on having a “Pamby Party” shortly after the first of the year and we will be posting more information with details.

“Be A Vision of Grace and Always Be Kind”

I will remember you & miss you always Pam. You enlightened my life the second we met & I will cherish the laughter & giggles & your sweet face from all the times we got together. Thank you for all of it. Kim
Missing my great friend🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕🩵❤️🩷💚LOVE YOU CAROLE DEEBLE🥰
Pam was a wonderful neighbor and friend. She was always there if we needed any help. She will be missed greatly.
Pam was a beautiful soul and ALWAYS smiling. We had fun together in our high school days as Friends, Cheerleaders, and Classmates. Hugs to all who have been touched by her presence. She will definitely be missed 💜
I worked at Madison Elementary with Pam. She was in the classroom across from me. I found out later that the teacher before me had expected the job so it made it very hard for me to be accepted. Pam would come and encourage me . She was very kind . It made a big difference. I am sooo very sorry for your devastating loss! I’m sure the kind of person she was will leave a huge hole in your family although knowing what Pam was like, she will never really be gone. She will always be near.
