Naomi Ruth Matlock

In loving memory of Naomi Ruth Matlock, who passed away peacefully at her home in Metaline Falls, Washington, on May 20th, 2024, at the age of 61. Naomi was born to Milton VanNoland and Naomi Bowman in Palo Alto, California, on November 15th, 1962. Naomi's childhood may be shrouded in a gentle mist of forgotten memories, but her spirit shone brightly from an early age. She easily passed the GED at the age of 16 in San Mateo, and embarked on a vibrant and fulfilling life’s journey. Throughout her life, Naomi pursued her passions with unwavering dedication. She found solace and rejuvenation in the embrace of nature, often embarking on hikes and foraging for hidden treasures that nature offered.

Her extraordinary culinary skills were a testament to her creativity and love for creating delicious meals, whether it was mastering the art of puffed pastries or preparing exquisite Thanksgiving dinners for her cherished family.

Naomi's interest in the legal system sparked an intellectual curiosity that she nurtured throughout her life. She had a deep appreciation for movies, particularly "My Cousin Vinny," which reflected her inquisitive nature and sense of humor. Naomi's legacy lives on through her beloved husband, Mark Matlock, her loving son Mark Ivan Jacobson Jr. (Jessica), her adoring daughter Molly Johns (Miguel), and her surviving grandchildren Ethan Jacobson, Allison Alvarez, Treyton Jacobson, Sean Jacobson, and Vincent Johns. Their hearts ache for the void left by her passing, but they find comfort in the countless cherished memories they share, knowing that her spirit will forever be with them.

Naomi's Celebration of Life service will be held at Sunset Chapel 5200 W Wellesley Ave, in Spokane, Washington, on May 29th, 2024, at 1 p.m. It will be a time for loved ones and friends to gather, reflect, and celebrate the remarkable life of Naomi Ruth Matlock. May her spirit find eternal peace and tranquility, and may her memory continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
