December 06, 1923 - July 11, 2015
A light has gone out in the world with the passing of Nadine Lewis Roadnight. She was a ray of sunshine and her big smiles will be missed. Nadine passed away peacefully in Spokane, WA on July 11, 2015. She was 91 years old. Nadine was born on December 6, 1923 in Salem, OR. She lived a full and wonderful life. What a joy it was to be in the presence of Nadine, with her beautiful big smile, exuberant laugh and charming sense of humor. Loving mother, wife, grandmother, friend, her mark on the lives of those she knew was significant. What struck you the most was her zest for life. Want to fish? Nadine could show you how. Need to cook your venison? Nadine was the best! She could roller skate rings around everyone and danced like nobody's business. Do you want to play cards? She would be there and was a force to be reckoned with. She loved her garden, she loved her animals and she loved her trips to the casino. Nadine worked for the Portland Police Department for many years managing the Data Processing department before computers arrived on the scene. Acting as both mother and father, many times she would take on an extra job to better provide for her sons, while still being involved in their lives. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband Ray. She is survived by her sons Rollin and Randy and her grandchildren, Kenneth and Rick. I would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful people at Horizon Hospice, for their support to our family and the comfort provided to Nadine on her last days. Also, Thanks to Fairwood Retirement Home for the great staff that worked with Nadine to support her and make her feel at home. Everyone was wonderful and helpful.
