Celebrating the Life of Millie Mooney On Thursday, November 7th, 2019 Mildred L. Mooney passed away at the age of 61. She was at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane,WA. Mildred Louise Mooney known as Millie by those who knew and loved her was born March 2nd, 1958 in Ft. Benning, Georgia to Dorothy A. Gamble and Harry A. Jones. She was the eldest of seven children. Millie had a degree in psychology and later was a certified nursing assistant. She always worked hard often working multiple jobs at a time. She was happiest working as a caregiver. She worked in nursing and adult family homes. Her last job was as a private caregiver in St. Maries, ID. Millie was an avid reader. She could always be found with a book. She loved gardening and cooking soul food. She enjoyed listening to music. Before her strokes she loved to dance and believed anyone was capable of dancing. She loved teaching people to dance and being part of dance groups at one point having her own D.W.A, Dancers With Attitude. She is preceded in death by spouse Lawrence W. Mooney. She is survived by daughters Jennifer M. Nabb in Viola, Delaware and Heather D. Southern in Spokane, WA and granddaughter Zion Southern in Spokane, WA. No formal services will be held. Millie wanted her life to be celebrated. She wanted it to be a party with music and soul food and of course dancing. She is dancing with the angels now.
