Our lifelong Aviator, Michael Ray Novitske, took his last flight on Monday, May 19th, 2025, at the young age of 66.
Michael was born in Berlin, WI, on July 9th, 1958. He is a 1976 High School graduate from Ripon, WI and immediately entered the U.S military. His military career started in the U.S. Army flying UH-1Bell helicopter and transferred to the U.S Airforce flying KC-135 tankers. His combined military career kept us safe for 22 years. After military retirement, he used his flight skills in the commercial aviation sector for another 25 years for a multitude of cargo/passenger carriers.
Michael was a husband, father, aviator and outdoor enthusiast and leaves behind his High School sweetheart with 49 years of marriage, Barbara Radke Novitske. His son, Matthew Novitske, with his wife Shelby Farrell, and Michael’s grandchildren, Daxton Novitske and Peyton Farrell. His parents, Ronald Novitske and Janice Junior. His sister Luara Polcyn and many other nieces and nephews.
A date will be set later for a celebration of life/military service.
Keep on flying, you will be missed by many!
Mike was my friend Matt's Dad growing up. He was a great neighbor and always was kind to me and my brothers when we came over. Very sorry to hear this.
This was sad news when we learned of his passing. But as others have said, we are thankful that his pain is gone. I'm sure his only regret was having to leave his family, whom I'm sure he loved greatly. God bless and keep you, Barb, and your family. We are praying for you all.
Both Mike and Barb are classmates from Ripon. MIke was a stand-up kind of guy, always personable and thoughtful. I am not suprised at all to read all the positive, and kind, comments. My condolences to all.
Mike will be missed. I had the pleasure to fly with him many times. Mike was so easy to be around, truly a good thoughtful person.
Sad to hear this news, but know he’s in a better place
