June 03, 1934 - December 29, 2014
Marjorie June Standley Triber Burns Loyal, loving all creatures, generous, and kind, Marjorie June Standley was born to Lloyd and Margaret Standley on June 3, 1934 in Cascade, MT. The family later moved to Newman Lake, WA. At Central Valley High School, Marge met Darrell Triber in the drum line. She graduated a year early as Salutatorian of her class and they were married. She became office manager of Rena Ware Distributors and made lifelong friends there. Soon, she and Darrell started a motorcycle/snowmobile business, Triberâ??s Sales and she left Rena Ware to run the business and operations side of Triberâ??s Sales. Due to hard work and smart business sense, one shop soon became four. Alongside the main business, Marge organized and managed race promotions and other supportive events. While growing this business, Marge cared for her mother and raised her family. In the mid 70â??s, the marriage dissolved and the business was sold. Margeâ??s next venture was to organize and lead the B&O aspects of Valley Yamaha. Toward the end of that decade, Marjorie met and married Eddie O. Burns. Eddie, his Margie, and Margaret then moved to Chattanooga, TN where Marge managed a Honda motorcycle dealership. The three explored the south together for several years before returning to Spokane at Eddieâ??s retirement from Continental Oil. Margeâ??s entrepreneurial spirit led her to seek an alliance with Avon products. This time Marge focused on the sales side with Eddie on the business area. Soon Marge became the top seller in her division, a rank she maintained for decades. For many years she was ranked among the top in the U.S. This allowed them to travel with Avon each year, often twice a year to many exciting venues throughout the United States. The Elks came into their lives around this time. Yet more enduring friendships were forged while supporting worthwhile charities and playing a little cribbage on the weekends. Devoted to her family, Marge was a believer in the power of education and broad experiences. As her daughters were growing, there was no doubt college was in their futures. When grandchildren arrived, she was at every school and extra-curricular event they were involved in from sports and math teams to concerts and debate. In August of 2013 Marge suffered a stroke. At that time, an issue she considered â??peskyâ?, a breast cancer recurred. Other cancers followed. She was a brave warrior until her last breath with never a complaint. A team of caregivers helped Marge to stay in the home she loved until the very end. Dr. Joni Nichols, Cancer Care Northwest, and Hospice of Spokane supported our family immensely. To the angels who cared for mom and we are forever grateful. Marge Burns passed on December 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Luke Standley (Carol still living in Phoenix), loving husband Eddie, and step-daughter Sandra Burns. Marge is survived by daughters Shawn Triber, Shelly Triber Bajadali (William), step-son Bruce Burns (Lisa), grandchildren Bailen Triber Brown, Zachary Triber Brown, Justin Burns, Ryan Burns, Amber Dixon, Tremayne Bumpas, Leighsha Bumpas as well as great grandchildren and numerous friends. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday January 10 at 1:00pm at the Spokane Valley Elks Lodge, 2605 N. Robie Road, Spokane Valley, WA. In lieu of flowers, please consider Momâ??s passions: The Humane Society, Washington State Elksâ?? Childrenâ??s Therapy Program and Hospice of Spokane.
