February 27, 1953 - July 11, 2017
On July 11th, our beloved wife, mother, and friend Marilyn Loomis Thompson (Age 64) lost her fight with cancer. She has been fighting breast cancer that metastasized to her lungs since 2013. She gave it her all and fought as long as she could but this afternoon God ended her struggles and took her home. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother Nina K. Cunningham; father Roy Loomis; step-father Glen Cunningham; and her son Anthony Donald Thompson. She leaves behind her husband Steve Thompson, daughters Rosemary Jones and husband Justan and Nachelle Engelhard and husband Ben three grandchildren; Casey, Willow & Kari Jones, siblings Joyce Kaiser and Dick Cunningham, not to mention numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Marilyn retired from Sacred Heart Medical Center Pharmacy this past winter after 30+ years of work. She loved her pharmacy family and really missed working with all of them. Marilyn was a big part of the Kirkpatrick reunions, you could usually find her working in the kitchen to make sure everything was perfect. She made it a point in life to stay connected with family and friends. She was heavily involved with the Moran Fair up until it was retired and then started being involved in the Clayton Community Fair and Clayton Farmers Market. She was Camp Fire leader for both of her daughters for several years and was always devoted to being there supporting her kids and grand kids. Marilyns graveside service will be on July 21st at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224, in the upper terrace in the "Faith" section at 2:30pm. Her Memorial/Celebration of life will be on July 29th at 11:00 am at the Moran United Methodist Church 3601 E. 65th AVE, Spokane, WA 99223. Marilyn was a shining star to all who knew and met her. The world lost a wonderful person, we will miss her beautiful smile & sparkling personality.
