Marianne (Vernon) Schapp August 8, 1947 – May 19, 2023 Marianne (Vernon) Schapp passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, due to natural causes. Marianne was born in Salem, Oregon, the second daughter of Francis and Jeannette (MacGregor) Vernon, Jr., was raised in Spokane, WA, graduated from Shadle Park High School class of 1965, and went on to attend Kinman Business School. During her working life she held a variety of secretarial positions. While growing up, she was active in Camp Fire, Inc. as a youth member and as a camper and counselor at Camp Sweyolakan on Coeur d’Alene Lake. She made lifelong friendships through this organization. Marianne married the love of her life, Ronald Schapp, on June 3, 1972, and they spent almost 51 wonderful years together living in various parts of the country, as Ron was transferred for his work. Marianne had a loving spirit, ready smile and laugh, and a friendly manner that enabled her to make friends wherever she went. She loved the outdoors and she and Ron went camping together often. She loved quilting, crocheting and embroidery and made a beautiful quilt for each of her sisters plus multiple sets of placemats for sisters, friends, and neighbors. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents and her younger sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen, and Gary Kuntz. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Schapp, older sister Claire (Chuck) Turner, brother-in-law Gary Schapp, two nieces and three nephews. Plans for a service are currently undetermined. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marianne V. Schapp may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children. Her remains have been entrusted to Pacific Northwest Cremation and Funeral North.
