October 07, 1926 - March 24, 2018
Peacefully and surrounded by love, our wonderful Mom Peggy went to her Heavenly home March 24. Her ever present love and concern for others continued to shine brightly throughout her wonderful life. Mom’s life was a true reflection of Gods’ love and how a life of faith is to be lived. Always able to look on the bright side, Mom showed us how to seek out the positive and love unconditionally. The example she set will live in all she touched for many generations to come. Born and raised in the mill town of Potlatch, Idaho as Margaret Ann Warner, Mom learned the importance of family at a very young age. She was also very active in the lives of her friends and relatives, learning compassion and love for others from her father and mother. At Potlatch High School Mom played basketball and was the Drum Majorette in the Marching Band. Mom met our Dad Lonnie Roe in high school and they were married in Potlatch in 1944. After living in Chicago during WWll, then going to college in Moscow, then a year in Libby, Montana, Mom and Dad settled in the Veradale area of the Spokane Valley, where they raised their 5 children and lived the rest of their lives enjoying family, church, spouses, grandkids and great grandkids. Lonnie and Peg were married for 70 years and lived in Veradale until Lonnie’s passing in 2015. Mom and Dad enjoyed countless fishing and camping trips, road trips to Seattle, huckleberry excursions to Priest Lake, a game of golf on a Saturday, winters in Arizona, roasting a hot dog over the fire, or just a plain old visit at home with family dropping by. Mom enjoyed organizing and participating. As an example she helped with the Girl Scout cookie sales for many years. Guarding the supplies was as challenging as the selling! Always supporting her children Mom rarely missed a sporting event, band concert, or scouting activity. Mom was a devoted servant of the Lord as a member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church where she was active on many committees and served as a Deacon. Her life was a true example of Gods’ love to others. - Peggy is survived by her children Bonnie of Spokane Valley, Tom (Linda) of Everett, WA, Rob (Jane) of Wenatchee, WA, Ed (Christy) of Liberty Lake, WA, and Ann(Bob) of Otis Orchards, WA, 11 Grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Peggy had a sister and two brothers whom she has joined in Heaven. - Mom lived the last few years at Broadway Court Estates where she had a wonderful life. Thank You BCE for all of your attentiveness and caring. In Peggy’s last few months she was surrounded by an amazing care team and the family will be ever thankful for your compassionate love and concern for our Mom. Words here cannot describe how much you mean to all of us! Nicole, Page, Charlotte, Shay, Angelique, Thank You and God Bless You! - A Memorial Service to honor our Mom’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday April 21st at Broadway Court Estates, 13505 E Broadway Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
