TAYLOR, Margaret B. (Age 93) - Margaret went to be with the Lord on March 15th, with immediate family members by her side. She was born on December 28th, 1923, in Hunters, WA, to John and Jenny Hudspeth. The family of six moved to a small farming community near Charlo, Montana, in 1929. Eventually they sold the farm and returned to Fruitland Valley, where Margaret graduated from Columbia High School in 1942. While attending Deaconess Nursing School, she met Lester Taylor, who was in the Navy and stationed at Farragut. He soon got orders to Treasure Island, near San Francisco. He was there briefly, and received a medical discharge due to an old injury (broken hips at age 16, when he was bucked off a horse). They were married on October 23rd, 1943, and lived in downtown Spokane before moving to the Spokane Valley. Margaret was a nurse for a few years during their marriage. Lester worked for Pacific Northwest Bell from 1945 to 1976. He was also in the cattle business, and he continued with that after retiring with the phone company. They retired to Edwall, WA. After Lesters death in 1989, Margaret returned to the Spokane Valley where she spent her remaining years. Her passion was water color and pastel painting. Margaret had a special friendship with Bob Mueller, and they traveled and enjoyed each other for 17 years, until Bobs death in 2011. She was a longtime volunteer for the Cheney Cowles Museum and the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum. Margaret is survived by, sons, Glen (Kim), Keith and daughter, Laurie (Pat); grandchildren, Shelly (Brent) Borg, Lisa (Josh) Reiter, Jay (Tiffany) Taylor, Ryan (Stephanie) Lancaster, Katie (Brent) Huckabee; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Knechtel, and Libby Coleman; and her brother, Joe Hudspeth. Services will be held at Living Hope Community Church, 16607 E Broadway Ave, Spokane Valley, WA, on Saturday April 29th, at 1:00pm. Inurnment will be at the Pines Cemetery.
