Mabel J Nelson

May 17, 1918 - August 12, 2014

NELSON, Mabel J. Mabel J. Nelson went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2014. She was born May 17th, 1918, in Spokane, Washington. Born to parents, Bengt and Jennie Nelson. Mabel grew up in Dalkena, WA and graduated from Newport High School. Then earned a Bachelors degree from Eastern Washington College of Education (EWU). Mabel taught elementary education at a one room school in Deer Valley, WA. She went on to teach for eight years. On leaving the teaching profession, Mabel worked in the office of Inland Power and Light, and retired in 1981. Mabel was a long standing member of the Salem Luthern Church. For the last 22 years, Mabel resided at Riverview Retirement Community. Mabel is survived by her sister, Helen Framstad; a niece Jenny; and three great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Riverview Retirement Chapel on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 2:00PM. Memorials may be sent to Riverview Retirement Community Residents Assistance Foundation.
