A very loving mother and grandmother, Louise Carney was born on October 29, 1920 to Henry and Rhoda Swan in Spokane. She passed away on January 3, 2016, also in Spokane. Louise graduated from North Central High in 1938. She married her husband, Robert Carney, on May 8, 1954 at the Grace Baptist Church. Louise took oil painting classes at the Spokane Community College Extended Learning Center for 25 years, she was very talented in it and loved to display her paintings. She also belonged to the Corbin Senior Center. She is survived by her children; Larry Carney (Kris), Richard Carney (Kathy), Daniel Carney (Ruby), and Robin Schaffer (Mike), all of Spokane; daughter-in-law Caryl of Arizona; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and 1 nephew. Louise was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert; her parents; her siblings, Don Swan, Ruby Halverson, Tiny Marsden, Connie Bolenbaugh, and Ethel McCrimmon; and her son, Mick Carney. A private inurnment took place at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
