January 19, 1938 - April 4, 2025

Loren Curtis was born on January 19, 1938 to Ralph and Myrtle Curtis in Spokane Washington. On April 4, 2025 Loren passed away peacefully at the hospice house with family by his side after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carlene, and his four children Gary & Linda Curtis, Hal & Cathy McCall, Wayne Curtis & Susan Davis, and Jeff &Mary Curtis. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Kris, Casey, Kyle, Vanessa Curtis, Lisa Smith and Tyler Davis. He is survived by his brother, Dale Curtis, and sister LaDonna Webley and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Richard Neville and sisters, Alice Wargo and Betty Sylvester.

Loren spent most of his childhood in western Montana. Loren’s father ran a logging & sawmill business and he and his brothers worked hard in the family business. Later he served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1963 and was assigned to a base in Anchorage Alaska. Loren and Carlene were married on September 24, 1959 in Fairbanks Alaska. Their first son Gary was born in Fairbanks in 1961. After serving in the Air Force, Loren began working for the Alaska Railroad on the same day his daughter Cathy was born in 1964. After studying the Bible for several years, Loren and Carlene were baptized together as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1964. The family returned to Spokane WA in 1967 where later Wayne and Jeffrey were born in 1970 and 1972.

Loren & Carlene always strived to put their Christian Faith first in their lives and to instill that in their children’s lives as well. Loren’s favorite scripture was John 17:3 and he often shared it with others. In Spokane Loren worked for Kaiser Aluminum, Plywood Distributors, and started his own successful LS Curtis Trucking business in 1978. Loren loved truck driving and drove millions of miles throughout the United States and Canada. He stopped at various Kingdom Halls during his travels to attend Christian meetings, assemblies and memorials where he made many dear friends. He was known for being a hard worker, a faithful husband, a good friend, and loved all his family very much. He enjoyed life so much, his hobbies included playing games and cards, downhill skiing, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, camping and boating and he was an avid fisherman. His affectionate nickname and CB handle was “Huckleberry” known to all his close friends and family because he loved to go huckleberry picking in the mountains.

A Memorial service will be held for Loren on Sunday, May 11th at 3:30 pm at the Northwest Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2824 N. Lee Street, Spokane WA 99207, or Zoom@ 5112025, password: Loren

To the loved ones of Loren Curtis:

Although we did not have the privilege of knowing Brother Curtis in this system, we sincerely hope to meet him under far better conditions to exist in paradise. (Rev. 21:4) We pray that Jehovah's promises, which we know cannot fail, will support and strengthen each of you until you are reunited with him in the not-too-distant future. (Job 14:14,15; John 5:28,29 (a)).

With all of our love and heartfelt prayers,
