January 07, 1933 - October 16, 2023

Lois Eileen Walton (Age 90) was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 16, 2023. Lois was born in Spokane, WA on January 7, 1933, to George & Willa Eplin, the second of three daughters. Mom graduated from North Central High school in Spokane, WA and soon married, beginning her life-long purpose as a wife and mother to her growing family. At the age of thirty mom found herself as a single mother of 6 sons; infant twin boys and 4 other boys ranging from 4 to 11 yrs. old. After 7 years raising her 6 sons on her own, with help from her parents and sisters, Mom reconnected with a childhood boyfriend, Eldon Lloyd “Walt” Walton, who she had known when she was 14 yr. old while living in Parkdale, OR. Mom would soon marry Walt, which also added one more son to the family. This began their 50-year marriage of deep love and friendship until his death in 2020. Mom will always be remembered for her unconditional love, faith in God and a continual praying spirit for her family and friends. When mom was asked in her later years how it must have been a lot of hard work raising 6 boys, mom replied, “It wasn’t work at all - I loved raising all you boys”. Mom’s final years were spent at The Spokane Veterans Home where she was loved and cared for by a wonderful staff of caregivers. The family sends their heartfelt thanks to all the compassionate and caring individuals who touched mom’s life. You were the hands and feet of Jesus whenever you attended to mom and you will be remembered in heaven. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Walt, parents George and Willa Eplin, sister Phyllis Chappell and daughter-in-law Kathy Roll. She is survived by her sister Wanda Louden, sons Steve (Jo Ann) Roll, Robert Roll, James Pederson, Mike (JD) Pederson, Larry (Cathy) Pederson, Jerry (Laura) Pederson, Kelly (Terri) Walton and her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois was laid to rest at a small gathering at the Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery on October 26th. In lieu of flowers we request Memorial donations to be sent to: Betterment Account, Spokane Veterans Home, E 222 5th Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.
