Lindell "Gene" Eugene Keller

January 07, 1935 - September 14, 2016

Born 1st of 4 children to Lindell Bliss Keller and Hazel Carrie Keller on the 7th of January, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois. He passed away on the 14th of September, 2016 in Spokane, Washington. Graduated Acalanes Union High School, Walnut Creek, CA, Class of 1952. Enlisted on the 23rd of October, 1952 in the US Air Force, served in Korea, married Elva Jean Francis Uncapher of Hayward, CA on the 16th of June 1956. Separated USAF on the 22nd of October 1956, re-enlisted active duty on the 17th of April, 1957, retired from active duty on the 31st of May, 1973, rank of Master Sergeant. His military career took him and family to Germany, Washington, California, Panama, culminating at Andrews AFB, Maryland. Gene used his GI Bill to attend the Fisher Body School for Auto repair and opened his own business, Gene’s Auto Boutique, in Upper Lake California upon retiring from the US Air Force. Gene and Elva moved to Nine Mile Falls, Washington, in July of 2000, spending the winters in Yuma, Arizona. Gene is a lover of Country, Bluegrass and Gospel music, and he played guitar, and mandolin. Gene was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Nine Mile Falls, Washington. Gene is survived by Elva Jean Francis Keller, wife of 60 years; Dennis Keller, son & wife Julie, Spokane, WA; Douglas Keller, son & wife Lisa, Hayward, CA; Jason Keller, grandson & wife Janelle, Santa Rosa, CA; Jeffrey Keller, grandson, Nice, CA; Todd Holyoake, grandson, Hayward, CA; Geoffrey Holyoake, grandson, Hayward, CA. He was preceded in death by Carrie Ann Keller, daughter, February 14th, 1959; Lindell Bliss Keller, father, July 20, 1992; George Wayne Bliss Keller, brother, September 21st, 1994; Hazel Carrie Keller, mother, January 19, 1997; Nadine Brown, sister, May 13th, 2010; Ethel Alice Norris, sister, July 30th, 2014. A Cryptside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 at 12:30PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Gene Keller’s name to the Hospice of Spokane.
