Linda Charlotte Metzger

January 14, 1950 - October 11, 2016

Linda C. Metzger, 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 of COPD, at her home in Spokane, Washington with her loving husband, David F. Metzger, and daughter, Shawna K. Jones (fka Renner) by her side. She was born on January 14, 1950 in Gooding, Idaho to Claude Mull and Irene Bryan. Linda's biological father was named Leon Corwin of Topeka Kansas. Linda found her biological Dad with the internet in 2005 and visited him twice where they were both delighted to find each other. Linda grew up in Wendell, Idaho. She graduated from Wendell High School in 1968. After high school, she attended Business College in Twin Falls, Idaho. She worked for a bank in Jerome, Idaho. From Linda's first marriage, she had her two children, Shawna K. Jones (Spokane) and Toby L. Renner (Gooding). Plus she was a 4-H Club leader with both Toby and Shawna. On July 13, 1985, Linda married the love of her life, David F. Metzger, which added four step-children to her life, David Metzger (Nampa, Idaho), Dean (Janet) Metzger (Nampa, Idaho), Debbie Hunt (Seattle), and Dena Metzger (Meridian, Idaho). Linda and David were married for 31 years.Linda spent time with all three Daughters in Jobs Daughters with each daughter becoming Honored Queen. In August 1986, Linda and David moved to Spokane, where Linda began working for HomeBase Warehouse for several years. Linda was a Customer Service Manager, where on August 25, 1995, Linda and a few co-workers received commendations for saving the life of a customer on August 7, 1995. This incident was a very pivotal incident in Linda's life. During the 31 years that Linda resided in Spokane, Washington she enjoyed spending time with her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Linda and David shared a love for gardening, their many dogs and cats, she enjoyed crocheting, and sewing with her daughters. Linda really enjoyed the greenery in Washington especially the plentiful trees. Linda is survived by her husband, David,her brother In-law Bruce Metzger (Spokane Valley), her brother Murray (Connie) Mull of Phoenix, Brent Mull of Wendell, her niece Michelle (Michael) Jones (Almo, Idaho), her children, Shawna, Toby, David, Dean, Debbie and Dena. Sixteen grandchildren Orrin (Lindsey) Stirton (Spokane), Cody Stirton (Spokane), Brandon Jones (Spokane), James Rider (Spirit Lake), Mackenzie and Robert Renner (Colville), Marissa, Aubreyanna, Hanna and Bailee Metzger (Nampa), Michael and Katie Metzger (Nampa), Lindsi Hunt (Seattle), Brittni (Gage) Stimpson (Jerome, Idaho), KassieDee Jackson (Jerome), and Garrett Heap (Meridian). Three great grandchildren Deegan Zick and Kaybree Jackson (Jerome/KassieDee), and Preston Lee Stimpson (Jerome/Brittni and Gage). Linda will be missed dearly by her family, siblings, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation to the Hospice House of Spokane 121 South Arthur Street, Spokane, Washington 99202. There will be no formal services at this time.
