July 02, 2001 - November 03, 2017
Kyle Kenji Van Liew was born on July 2, 2001 in Spokane Valley and passed away on November 3, 2017. - Kyle lived a full life in just 16 years. He was always on the go seeking life out, be it a new adventure, challenge or friendship. Idle time was not in his repertoire. - Kyle thrived on his many relationships with people of all ages and interest. He had great compassion for people in need. He would take it upon himself to cheer up others or protect them from negative circumstances. We have always taken great pride in that. He was also a very loving son and brother, always proud of his sisters & brothers accomplishments. - Growing up, Kyle dedicated himself to a variety of sports. He reveled in all forms of competition. The greater the challenge, the higher the satisfaction for Kyle. His main love was soccer. Competitive soccer provided him the experience of extensive travel to many fun places. He loved the roads trips with teammates, other parents and coaches. He also enjoyed hanging out with friends, hiking, camping and fishing. - From the time Kyle was a very little boy, he thoroughly cherished spending time with all of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family reunions and gatherings in fun places like Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, and Hawaii provided a lot of happy times for Kyle. - He is survived by his parents, Steve and Jennifer, brother Ryan and sister Sara, Grandma Edna Isobe, Grandpa Gene Van Liew and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. - We will miss his glowing smile and playful swagger. - A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley Real Life Church, 1831 S. Barker Road, Greenacres, WA on December 2, 2017 at 1:00pm. - In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Kyles memory to Second Harvest Food Bank Spokane, or Meals on Wheels-Spokane.
