August 05, 1976 - August 18, 2021
Kimberly Joy Brock died August 18, 2021. She was born August 5, 1976 in The Dalles, OR. She is survived by the love of her life, Nic Trudeau, her father and stepmother Mike and Susan Brock, her mother and stepfather Katherine and Stan Baxter, her sister Heather Davis (Tom), and her brother Adam Brock, stepsisters Shannon Daughtry (Danny), Heather Jahns (Jon), stepbrothers Ryan Yochum (Jen), Scott Yochum (Marie), Todd Baxter (Joy), Tim Baxter (Margaret), uncles John Luebke (Mary), and Dave Luebke (Shannon), and her Aunt Lesley Horman (Larry), great aunts Doris Hansen, Florence Young, and Olga Krause, numerous cousins, and many nieces and nephews to whom she was known as “Aunt Miki.” She received her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Washington State University, working in school districts in Medical Lake, WA, Salinas, CA, and the Hawaiian Islands of Maui and Lanai. She and her business partner, Emily Steenbergh started Malama Speech Services which serves the school districts throughout the Hawaiian Islands. She loved her students, many with severe disabilities, working with parents, and a team of professionals to teach skills to help these children succeed in life. Kim and Nic realized their dream of living in a tropical paradise in Hawaii. Surfing, fishing, walking on the beach, and watching beautiful sunsets were some of their favorite times together. They traveled many places together; Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Kim herself was an intrepid traveler living and working in Seoul, S. Korea, visiting Bali, Thailand, Peru, and many national parks. Kimberly lived up to her middle name. She brought joy to all who knew her, and made friends wherever she went. She had a generous and loving spirit and had the ability to bring friends and family together, whom she cherished as the most precious gifts in life. The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Charity of your choice in honor of Kim. A memorial service to celebrate Kim’s life will be August 28th at 11 am at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
