Kenneth Wayne Hitchcock

September 15, 1925 - December 02, 2016

HITCHCOCK, Kenneth Wayne (Age 91) - Ken passed away in Spokane, WA on December 2, 2016. He was born near Pueblo, CO to Daryl G. and Alma Henderson Hitchcock on September 15, 1925. He served in the US Army, in Europe, during WWII and was honored to be included in the first Inland Northwest Honor Flight in 2009. Ken married Rose Ellen Orchard on August 18, 1947. Together they adopted six children and raised them in the Glenrose area of Spokane. Ken was in the basement concrete business for many years and later worked for Globe Life Insurance Co. He is survived by Rose Hitchcock, his children Wayne (Laurie), Winnie Nelson (Dave), Alma McNamee (Brian), Keven (Mary), and Ellen Starosta (Steve) all of Spokane, and Daryl (Marta) of Leysin, Switzerland; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brothers Marvin and Don, and sisters Donna and Linda; and dear friend Evelyn Aschenbrener. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Daryl and Dean, and sisters Margorie, Verna and Karen. His sister, Karen Veneta Hester passed away just one day earlier, on Dec. 1, 2016. A celebration of life for Kenneth and Karen will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the St. Patrick Parish Hall at 5021 N. Nelson St., Spokane, WA 99207. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneths memory to: INW Honor Flight, 608 W. 2nd Ave., Ste 309; Spokane, WA 99201-4430.
