Broadway Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037 Juanita Pauline Olson was born in Yakima Washington January 23rd 1937 and was the oldest of ten children. She attended Elementary and Junior High school in Yakima prior to moving with her family to Renton, Washington to complete High School. Graduating High School in 1955 prepared her to attend Northwest college where she graduated with a degree in Christian Education in 1958. Soon after graduating, she taught 4th grade at Kings Garden in North Seattle. At this time while she attended Renton Assembly of God, she met Mervin Olson and they married in 1959. Juanita and Mervin continued living in Renton where Kermit, Vernon, and Jerrol were born. Shortly after the three boys were born, Juanita and Mervin moved to the Portland area and soon after moved to Spokane in 1966. Upon moving to Spokane, Juanita became a legal secretary for a number of local real estate attorneys. In 1967, she moved with her young family to Greenacres and enjoyed living on a small farm where together they raised horses, cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and eventually mules. Life on the farm brought many opportunities to spend time with her eight grandchildren as they enjoyed riding bikes, playing games, riding horses, swimming in the Spokane River and picnicking nearby. While living in the Spokane Valley, Juanita attended Glad Tidings Church where she and Mervin served as Youth Leaders for many years. Juanita was active in the church choir, sang solos, and directed numerous drama productions. She also committed herself to writing letters to encourage Active Duty Service Men in the Vietnam era. While attending Valley Assembly for the past 30+ years, Juanita and Mervin have been active volunteers as well. Juanita enjoyed being part of the women’s bible study, camping with the seniors group, and walking the Centennial Trail with many ladies from the church as well as her neighbors. Other interests included swimming, bowling, packing trips on horseback in the Cascade Mountains, and many camping trips with her grandchildren. Juanita is survived by her husband Mervin, Sons and Daughters in Law; Kermit and Lynnetta, Vernon and Sue, Jerrol and Lori, grandchildren; Angela, Brant and his wife Sasha, Jenelle and her husband Jeff, Drew, Karissa, Alise, Connor and Evan, Siblings Jim Williams, John Williams, Dave Williams, Dan Williams, Joyce McMillan, Darrell Williams, Diane Fant, Lynette Johhson and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
