Juanita Adele Johnson

October 13, 1926 - May 08, 2017

Juanita Adele Johnson (Age 90) - October 13, 1926 - May 8, 2017 - Juanita was born in Scotia, CA, the third of six children born to Chester William Jensen, a dairy farmer and Minnie Lee Nolan, a schoolteacher. Juanita had four sisters and a brother: Viola (deceased), Ethel, Sarah Elizabeth "Betty", William (deceased), and Helen (deceased). Juanita completed high school, and also attended business college in Arcata, CA where the family had settled. Shortly after her high school graduation the family relocated to Rogue River, OR, where she joined them upon completion of business college. This was where she met Walter John Johnson, the love of her life. - Juanita and Walter married in Medford, OR on December 1, 1945. Soon they moved to Walters hometown of Ione, WA. Walter and Juanita had sixty-two years together and are survived by three children; Margery (Brad) Nave, Donald (Pamela) and Kenneth (Penny), 10 grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. - Juanita and Walt enjoyed skiing and were avid golfers but they especially loved dancing together. Walt and Juanita could be found at the Senior Center every Saturday. The Fred and Ginger of the senior set! - Juanita was always artistic and shared her talents with us in multiple ways. Juanita sewed, knitted and did crafts. She also played the organ and with Walt on the accordion and her son, Don, on the guitar there were many family sing-alongs comprised of hymns, country songs and old standards. Juanita's skill as a painter is what will, however, be her lasting legacy. The first time she picked up a brush it was evident she should have always been painting. She was an extremely prolific artist and her family and friends were all recipients of her art, a gift that will forever remind us of her talent and of her love for us. Her art will be a solace in her absence. Our family will always feel such pride for her amazing creativity. - Juanita and Walter will be placed together at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake at a later time. - Juanita, with Walter, are the authors of a story still in the making. In our hearts, we know Juanita and Walt are together, waltzing, just beyond the moon.
