June 30, 1936 - April 03, 2018

Joyce “Darlene” Glasgow (Age 81), also known by many as “Mimi”, was born in Twin Falls, ID on June 30, 1936. She moved to Puyallup, WA shortly thereafter and graduated from Puyallup High School. After high school, Mom moved to San Francisco where she lived for three years with her lifelong friend Beverly Murphy. Together they had many adventures that made for some very funny stories. When she returned home, she was set-up on a blind date. Little did she know she would meet the love of her life, Tommy Ray Glasgow. Still needing a little more adventure, she went to Europe by herself and toured for a month. When she returned, she and Dad picked up where they left off and were married in 1966 at Little Church on the Prairie in Lakewood, WA. They were blessed with a son, Troy Allen, in 1968. Three years later their family was complete when Nancy Lynn was born in 1971. When the children were little, Mom opened up a day care. Not only did she do this because it allowed her to stay at home with their kids, but because of her love and caring nature for all children in general. Mom was very artistic and creative and especially loved oil painting. She and Dad were also avid tennis players and belonged to the Lakewood Racquet Club for many years. Mom was a gracious host and loved having people around. It wasn’t unusual to have at least 10 neighborhood kids in their yard playing games and doing cartwheels. After all, she always had snacks and lemonade, and was a very fair and impartial cartwheel judge. Our beloved Mimi passed away, with her family by her side, on April 3rd, after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mom is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tommy Ray, son Troy Glasgow and his wife Kristine, and their children Colton, Kaylee, and Rachel as well as daughter Nancy Williams and her husband Dr. Michael Williams, and their children Payton and Mackenzie. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
