Joseph (Age 60) passed away in his home on June 19th, 2018 due to natural causes. He was born June 18th, 1958 in Spokane, to Nick Sr. and Irene Qualtieri. he grew up and lived most of his life on the South Hill in Spokane. He went to Cooper Elementary School and graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School in 1976. He received an Applied Science - Environmental Horticulture degree at Spokane Community College in 1978. Joe worked at Manito Golf and Country Club as a groundskeeper for 34 years, ending in 2016. Joe married Mary Qualtieri October 1, 2004. Joe and Mary enjoyed many years of geocaching, treasure hunting, volunteering, and exploring the northwest. Joe was very involved with Amateur Radio, call sign KE7PI. He was the longest standing member of the Greater Spokane Emergency Management - Mobile Emergency Operations Center, volunteering for over 30 years. You would also see Joe volunteering with Spokane County ARES/RACES at Bloomsday, the Lilac Parade, along with many other events and disasters around the Spokane area. In Joe's spare time, he enjoyed treasure hunting with the Northwest Treasure Hunters Club and gardening at home. Joe is survived by his wife Mary, step-daughter Cassandra, step-son Christopher, and granddaughter Ashlin. He is preceded in death by his mother Irene, father Nick Sr, and brother Nick Jr. Joe's memorial will be held at a later date to be determined. Memorial contributions are being handled through a Facebook fundraiser on Joe’s Facebook page.
