Johnathan Scott Kooser

April 29, 1980 – August 09, 2026

Johnathan Scott Kooser was born on April 29, 1980, in Denver, Colorado, to Dale Antoinette Kooser (Scott) and Michael Eugene Kooser.

Johnathan was a generous soul with a kind heart and an incredible work ethic. A true jack of all trades, he was hardworking, resourceful, and always willing to lend a hand. He had a special place in his heart for animals and was a compassionate advocate for those who were less fortunate. His generosity knew few limits—he was generous to a fault and often gave freely to others simply because he believed it was the right thing to do.

Johnathan was a father, a friend, a son, a brother. He leaves behind his three children, Macy, Johnathan, and Jeffrey, two Grandsons-Elijah and Idris.

Johnathan is also survived by his father, Michael Eugene Kooser; his sisters, Jacqulyn Powell,Jill Payne-Oconnor, and Krissy Box (Humphrey); his nephews, Chris Powell, Joseph Oconnor, Jacob Oconnor; his niece, Sierra Powell; and his grand-nephew, Kyllian.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dale Antoinette Kooser.

Johnathan will be remembered for his generous spirit, his willingness to work hard, his love for animals, and his compassion for people who needed someone in their corner. He leaves behind a family who loved him and countless memories of a man who gave freely of himself.

His presence will be deeply missed, and the kindness he showed others will remain an enduring part of his legacy.

I will always have many great memories of Johnny and his family and that house on Gail Lane. We were all so close at one time... even though we weren't anymore, when we did connect, it was instantly like old times. I take some comfort that he is at peace now. He was a caring, generous friend, and I know he will be greatly missed by many.
