John (Jack) Dubuque, 87, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on January 26, 2026.Jack was brought into this world in North Dakota to Ernest and Frances Dubuque, the second of five children. He graduated from Billings Central High School. In high school he participated on a dance team and enjoyed team sports such as basketball and softball.Jack was in the Army Active Reserve and Standby Reserve and received an Honorable Discharge in 1965. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from San Jose State College in 1969.Lorri and Michelle were born from his first union. He invited son Gary and daughter Anita into his arms as a special addition to his family. Three step-daughters were accepted with open arms when he married Shirley in 1980. Each of his children were accepted for who they were and deeply loved from his heart. His passing has left broken hearts.  In time we will mend and go forward with the fortitude of the strength and optimism he exampled as our guide.Jack and Shirley had many years together filled with outdoor activities such as mushroom and agate hunting, camping, boating, fishing, along with crossing the United States researching genealogy before the digital era. They attended many activities and events for their children and grandchildren through the years. Many, many pictures document the lives they shared with their loved ones.Jack worked various jobs in his younger years then settled into welding and fabricating until his retirement. After retirement Jack followed his passion of flying by becoming a member of a local remote control aeronautics club known as NAPS to insiders. He made many friends through the years with his fellow enthusiasts. He loved the challenge of building gas engine planes and the camaraderie of flying with other members. Jack dedicated his time as Vice-President and President of the club for many years.Jack is survived by his sister Bev (Floyd), children Lorri (Kevin), Michelle, Gary (Christy), Anita, Kathy (Tim), Sheila (Mike), Cindy (Neil), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
