John Aaron Walters

October 22, 1954 - March 05, 2021

WALTERS, John Aaron (Age 66) John Aaron Walters passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2021 in Spokane, WA. He was born on October 22, 1954 in Denver, CO to Lloyd and June Walters. He graduated from high school in Denver, CO in 1973. John’s career was in telecommunications and networking. His work in telecommunications brought him to Spokane, WA in 1982 to install a phone system in a new corporate building. There he met his wife Lorrie and they lovingly raised two children and built a life together in Spokane. John spent the last 20 years of his career with the City of Spokane, retiring in the summer of 2018. John loved spending time with family and friends, sharing a great meal, sipping red wine and playing cards. He enjoyed grilling on his deck, traveling, camping, hunting, bowling, reading, gardening and anything involving the water (kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving). The Oregon Coast was one of his favorite places and he enjoyed 30 years of vacations there with family and friends. It will always make us smile when we remember his amazingly intricate sandcastles built on the beach! John was loving retirement and had many more adventures planned. John was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; mother, June; and brother Lloyd Jr. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lorrie; son Chad; daughter Hailey (Chris Tunca); brother Steve (Ginny); sisters Nadine (Cliff Schertz) and Jeneane (Ron Nelssen); sister-in-law Trish Walters; brother-in-law Jason Iltz (Kaylene); mother-in-law Dorothy Frederick; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. John’s legacy lives on through our beautiful memories and the love he had for his wife, children, family, and friends. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the National Forest Foundation - nationalforests.org
