A life stitched together with Love, Laughter, and Adventure.
Some people leave footprints wherever they go. Others leave beautiful quilts, treasured memories, a family full of love, and enough stories to keep everyone laughing for years. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother did all of that and more.
She was born and raised in Coos Bay, Oregon, on April 10, 1945. She married a military man and moved 24 times in 26 years. She learned to make a home wherever life planted them, providing that home isn't a place on a map- it’s the people you love and memories you make together.
Her greatest masterpiece wasn't a place, a trip, or even one of her extraordinary quilts. It was her family. She had a gift for taking little pieces of fabric and transforming them into something beautiful. In many ways, that was how she lived her life, creating something lasting out of all the little moments that make a lifetime. Her quilts will be treasured for generations, each stitch a reminder of the hands that made them and the heart behind them.
She leaves behind a legacy measured not in miles traveled or quilts completed, but in the love she gave, the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the lives she touched.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dave Schwartz (of 62 years). She is also survived by her daughter, Christina, and predeceased in death by her son, David. She has three beautiful grandchildren (Kat, Laura, and Christian) and six beautiful great-grandchildren as well. Our hearts are broken by her absence and are grateful for every adventure, every hug, every shared meal, every laugh, and every stitch of love she left behind.
We imagine her final journey is one she would appreciate; no packing boxes and no unpacking an entire house for the twenty-fifth time. Perhaps there's a beautiful stretch of Oregon coastline waiting for her, a perfect picnic spot, a passport ready for Europe, and an endless supply of gorgeous fabric. Her life was a beautiful patchwork of love, family, and adventure. And what a magnificent quilt she leaves behind.
