JoAnn Karen Rice (age 85) JoAnn died peacefully at her home in Good Samaritan Spokane Valley early Monday, August 6, 2018. JoAnn, and her twin brother Jan, were born on August 3, 1933, to Eric F. and Charlotte L. Jacobson. She was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from Washburn High School. After high school JoAnn attended Arizona State University and in 1955 she married Richard T. Dailey. They lived in State College, PA. Together they had four children. In 1968 the family moved to Pullman, WA. JoAnn was an accomplished seamstress and would often sew matching outfits for her family! She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, keeping all who knew her supplied with handmade scarves and hot pads. Because she was an avid reader, JoAnn helped instill a love of books in her children and grandchildren. JoAnn will be remembered for her love of classical music, being an exceptionally gifted pianist and having a beautiful singing voice. Family and friends also remember JoAnn for always baking oodles of cookies and for her extreme love of cats! JoAnn was a friend to all who met her, and she never had an unkind word to say about anyone. Ever. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Charlotte Jacobson, and her brother Jan Jacobson. She is survived by her children Karin Wallace (Steve), Kennewick, WA, Frank Dailey, Covington, WA, Martha Bayle (Mike), Spokane Valley, WA and Jennifer Tudor-Arrington (Quinn), Grants Pass, OR. JoAnn is also survived by her grandchildren Monica Wallace, Stephanee Hardesty (Mike), Joscelyn Wallace, Jason Dailey, Sarah Dailey, Madolyn Bayle, Alannah Bayle, Courtney Tudor, Kellyn Tudor, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for JoAnn will be held in the chapel at Good Samaritan Spokane Valley at 1:00 o’clock on Friday August 10, 2018.
