Jean Bernice Williams )Age 90) was called to heaven on May 30, 2018. With the comfort of her daughter Gloria by her side, Jean passed peacefully in the loving and caring community of Brookdale Park Place. Jean, the youngest of 7 children, was born September 23, 1927 in Grafton, ND. At age 14, she moved with her family to Longview, WA. She graduated from R.A. Long High School. Following graduation, she worked at Bell Telephone, as an operator, where she met the love of her life, Jack Williams. Jack and Jean married in 1947, celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in July 2017. In 1979, Jack and Jean moved from Longview to Yakima where they resided for 10 years. They relocated in 1990 to Spokane, to reside near their daughter, son in law, and 3 grandsons. The presence of Jean’s warm spirit, embraced by her bright smile, was sure to make a difference in anyone’s day. She lived a fulfilling life, enjoying activities with numerous family members as they were very close and lived within the same community. One of Jean’s most memorable experiences was the many years she and Jack Spent at a cabin they purchased together in the late 1950’s with her parents, sister and brother in law, Esther and Harry, and niece Thelma (Doug), in Ocean Park, WA on the Long Beach Peninsula. Displays of pictures and memorabilia collected throughout the years are exhibited in the cabin, reflecting the spirited life enjoyed by all. The legacies live on, while next generation family members continue to embrace the amenities of this very special cabin. Bowling was another highlight of her life. Jean participated in the Kelso Elks Women’s League, sharing fun, laughter and good times with her teammates. Jean also spent time enjoying needlepoint, embroidery and knitting as her hobbies. Her beautiful work had been enjoyed by family, friends, and those who received special gifts such as sweaters, Christmas stockings, embroidered quilt blocks and tea towels. Jean in preceded in death by her parents, Tena and Rupert Napper, elder siblings, and daughter Jacquiline Lee Williams. She is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Gloria Spaulding, grandsons; Roger (Cybil) Spaulding, Brett Spaulding, and Brian Spaulding, granddaughter Chala, and numerous nieces and nephews.
