November 30, 1957 - August 29, 2018
Edlund, Jay Edward (Age 61) Of Spokane passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 29, 2018. Jay was born November 30, 1957, in Spokane, to Neva Kelley and Ray Phares of Spokane WA, and shortly after adopted by Donald Edlund of Spokane. He mostly grew up with his mother and two siblings; Von and Joette. The four of them shared a good, happy and healthy life along with his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and many Cousins. Attending schools and spending most of his life here in the beautiful Spokane Valley, he had a short few years attending Creston BC High School where he met good and lifelong friends, but then, returned home to finish his school years here in the Valley. After leaving Central Valley High School, Jay began working for various construction and steel companies in Washington and Colorado, but again, returned to Spokane Valley where his heart has always been for the remainder of his life. Jay had the joy of having three sons: Jason (Delong), Robert (Nolen), and Jayde Edlund. He married Denise (Kirby) in 1986 of Spokane Valley and together they raised Robert and Jayde, while Jason continued to live with his mother (Laura) keeping in close contact with Jay and his family. A big part of Jay's life was spent yearning for the great outdoors. He loved this beautiful blue planet in this amazing universe and the many different types of animals, seasons, good foods and the healthy refreshing beverage of beer. His love for listening to good music brought special meaning and joy into his days. And he had a strong belief in caring for the earth by sharing in the recycle program in his home state of Washington. He played a big part in the lives of his family and friends and will be missed dearly. A Memorial has been planned for Jay sometime in the early Spring of 2019 and will be announced at a later date.
